APPARENTLY in the Peruvian Desert...Huacachina?! Never heard of it, but maybe why this site is called "secretly incredible places to travel". Sandboarding maybe?

Map Crunch
Honestly, if someone asked me if I have a hobby, the only thing I could come up with right away would probably be stumbling...As in Stumble Upon. I have actually stumbled on the coolest stuff. A lot of the things on my bucket list were featured on travel websites I "stumbled upon". I even found this awesome website where you can pick a place out of a list of countries and it'll drop you right onto the street of that country. It almost feels like you're there. How else would a person get to see what countries like Slovenia and Swaziland look like from street level? It's the cheap and pathetic excuse for travelling, but it's FREE and FROM MY COUCH! And it lets me dream of when I'll actually be in some of the countries, seeing the sights out a car window instead of on my laptop screen!
The Bucket List Continues
3. Go to Victoria Falls on the Zambian/Zimbabwe border and go in the DEVIL'S POOL on the Zambian side. The Devil's Pool is a little area right at the top of the waterfall that people can swim in.
4. Here's one that's probably more likely in the short term. My mom used to make her own jam when we were younger and I remember it being SO GOOD! One of my goals is to make my own jam! Mostly, I just added this one so that I won't have all my bucket list goals unchecked!

5. Go on a boat down the Amazon!
6. CONTIKI TRIP! I was so close to saying FUCK SCHOOL and spending all my saved money on a Contiki trip this year, but ultimately I decided it would be way harder to go back to school. I've convinced myself when I'm done school I can do my contiki trip! I'm thinking I want to do the Contiki trip in Peru which includes the Machu Picchu hike AND a boating trip in the Amazon which would check a couple of my goals off the list!!

Bucket List
I've already started writing my bucket list.
I figure if I start checking things off my bucket list when I'm young, there's more of a chance I'll get it all done.
Way too many people think they'll have a ton of time to do all the things they want to do, but realistically, life happens and most people don't ever end up doing the things they thought they would. So many people end up being forty with a family and a husband and way too many obligations to be able to get away travelling.
A huge portion of my bucket list involves travelling. Since a lot of my goals will require some serious cash, I plan on going to pharmacy school and then working as a pharmacist for a couple of years. I'll save most of the money I make to knock a lot of my goals off this list.
1. I've knocked one thing off so far. This past summer, I convinced my mom to come skydiving with me in July. It was amazing. We got photos and videos during the dive...which led me to discover I do not maintain a very model-esque face while free falling through the air. One of my nostrils also appears to be taking in far more air then the other. Regardless of my free falling facial deformities, I still sometimes show people the photos just because it's so awesome. AND its the only thing I've crossed off my bucket list so far.
I'm going to post the rest of my bucket list on here, a few things at a time.
2. Do the overnight hike to Machu Picchu in Peru.
3. Go on the "Swing at the End of the World" in Banos, Ecuador

Zero references
I want to go to pharmacy school. I recently decided this after discovering I can apply and go after second year of my undergrad. This means I would end up doing six years of school total, have a guaranteed job when I graduate and probably make over 100,000 a year. The problem is how to get accepted to such a highly competitive program...While looking up requirements, I noticed that many of the pharmacy schools need references. This led to my realization that other then my immediate family members, I really have NO ONE who could speak to the "caring" and "compassionate" nature that those who get into pharmacy school have.
One of my two references is my aunt (who has a different last name then me so we pretend we aren't related). The other is my old supervisor at A&W, who would quite possiblt end up hurting my chance of getting a job rather then helping it. When I apply for jobs, I count on the fact that most employers don't call references. However, it appears as though pharmacy schools definitely do.
Basically, this realization has led me to want to volunteer this summer for all the wrong reasons. To get a good, solid reference.
References just shouldn't be a thing anymore. Obviously if I write someone as my reference, they're going to say good stuff about me or I wouldn't have used them as my reference. But that's just the viewpoint of a person who doesn't really HAVE any references.
